Alexandra Sarabia is a multimedia journalist based between the Washington, D.C. and New York City metropolitan areas. She grew up in Newark, New Jersey, studied biology at The College of New Jersey, and earned her MA in international journalism from City, University of London, focusing on broadcast video & audio journalism. Her written work has appeared in PBS NewsHour, The Last Magazine, Because London, Frontline Club, among other outlets. She is also not a terrible photographer.
She worked as an Assignment Editor for NBC Washington, covering breaking news in the greater Washington, D.C. region. She most recently worked as a Producer with Al Jazeera English’s The Stream and has an enviable growing list of global contacts procured from the wide range of national and international stories she produced (some of which have done really well online).
She is currently a Video Producer with Reuters Video News Agency.
She has to remind herself daily that her job is not her life. She loves drawing/illustrating, distance running while listening to long Spotify playlists, and nights with good friends and good food.
